Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Little Loop, a marketplace service operated by TheLoop Ltd. Little Loop helps members list, find, buy, sell, give away and swap items. Renting is not currently available.

1. Who we are

Little Loop is a UK-based local marketplace operated by TheLoop Ltd. You can contact us through Help and support.

Legal operator: TheLoop Ltd. Company number: 17484218. Registered in England and Wales.

Email: wearelittleloop@gmail.com. You do not need an account to email us.

2. The marketplace

Unless Little Loop expressly says otherwise, items are offered by the member who created the listing. Little Loop is not the buyer, seller or owner of those items and does not inspect or guarantee them. A transaction for an item is between the buyer and seller, or between the members making a swap.

Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded. If a seller is acting as a trader, additional consumer rights may apply to the buyer.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your account secure and use Little Loop lawfully. Little Loop accounts and transactions are for people aged 18 or over. Do not create an account, list an item or message another member if you are under 18. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. We may restrict or close accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance or serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

4. Listings

Only list items you own or are authorised to supply. Listings must be accurate about the item, condition, defects, missing parts, price and collection or drop-off arrangements. Do not deliberately conceal information that would materially affect another member's decision.

Do not list illegal, stolen, recalled or unsafe products, or anything prohibited by our Safety & prohibited items policy. We may remove or restrict listings where we reasonably believe they breach these rules or create a safety or legal risk.

Child car seats and bases may be listed only when they meet the additional requirements in our Safety & prohibited items policy, including known history, no collision involvement, no unresolved recall and all required safety parts. Little Loop does not inspect or certify them. Permission to list and use of card payments do not establish that a seat is safe.

5. Requests, swaps and agreement

Sending a request does not itself take payment. A seller can accept or decline a request. Where members agree a price or swap, they are responsible for checking that the details are correct before handover. An item being marked reserved does not transfer ownership.

6. Payments

Cash payments are arranged directly between members. Little Loop does not hold, safeguard or guarantee those direct payments. Members should check the item and agreed amount before completing a direct payment.

Where the secure card-payment option is offered, the buyer completes Stripe checkout after the seller accepts the request and completes any required payout setup. For new card purchases, checkout places a temporary authorisation hold on the buyer’s card. Payment is captured when the seller verifies the collection PIN, and handover is completed only after payment confirmation. The exact collection deadline is shown in Transactions. If the hold expires before collection is confirmed, it is released and the item becomes available again after the automatic check. Existing payments already captured under the earlier flow retain their original handover and refund process. The applicable Little Loop fee and total card amount are shown before payment. Seller payout is released through the Little Loop payment flow after the handover is confirmed. Calling the checkout secure describes the payment process; it does not mean Little Loop guarantees the item, the seller, or a refund in every dispute.

7. Collection and delivery

Members arrange pickup or drop-off between themselves. Little Loop does not provide transport, delivery, installation or collection services unless expressly stated. Use sensible precautions when meeting another member, and do not share more personal information than is necessary to arrange the handover.

8. Cancellations, refunds and disputes

For cash transactions, payment and any refund are between the members involved. Little Loop can provide reporting and support tools but does not guarantee recovery of money paid directly to another member.

Inspect the item before sharing your four-digit collection PIN. When the seller enters your PIN, the transaction is marked complete and the seller's payment is released through the payout flow. If the item is missing, unsafe or materially different from the listing, do not confirm handover; discuss the problem with the seller and contact Help and support with the transaction reference.

Cash, fee-free swaps and free-item reservations may be cancelled before either party confirms handover, provided no payment has been sent; a new uncompleted reservation ordinarily expires after 14 days. Before PIN-confirmed handover, the seller may cancel an eligible card authorisation hold; no payment is taken and the item is made available again after Stripe confirms cancellation. A bank may take a few days to remove the pending hold. For payments already captured under the earlier flow, the seller may cancel an eligible paid card purchase from Transactions, provided the item has not been handed over. This requests a full refund of the buyer’s card payment, including the Little Loop fee, to the original payment method. Refunds may take time to process; payments with an existing refund, dispute or released seller payout require support review.

Little Loop is a marketplace; the sale is between the buyer and seller. After completion, any return, refund or item-condition dispute should be raised directly with the seller. Little Loop does not offer a general change-of-mind or item-condition refund guarantee. If members voluntarily agree to reverse a completed sale for a change of mind, the Little Loop card service fee is ordinarily retained for the service already provided; any return of that fee is assessed separately. This does not apply where refunding the fee is required by law, where Little Loop has made an error, or where we agree otherwise. No post-completion refund or chargeback is automatic, and requests must go through support. Opening a support request does not automatically refund a card payment or reverse a seller payout.

This does not affect applicable legal rights or rights to dispute a card payment. Suspected fraud and payment errors can still be reported to Little Loop through Help and support. Neither confirmation of handover, release of seller funds nor these terms remove rights you may have against the seller, Little Loop or your payment provider that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Safety, reports and moderation

You can report a listing, message or member and can block other members. We may review reports and take proportionate action, including removing content, limiting features or restricting accounts. We may act urgently where we reasonably believe there is an immediate safety, fraud or legal risk.

Do not use Little Loop to threaten, harass, defraud or exploit another person, or to post or facilitate illegal content. Child sexual abuse or exploitation, grooming, terrorism, hate offences, intimate-image abuse, cyberflashing and encouragement or assistance of serious self-harm are prohibited. Pornography and content promoting suicide, self-harm or eating disorders are not permitted. Report concerning content, contact or conduct through Help and support or email wearelittleloop@gmail.com, including if you cannot sign in. We assess reports and restrict or remove harmful content and accounts where appropriate. Our reporting and complaints route is available through Help and support. You can also challenge a moderation decision through Help and support.

10. Our responsibility

Little Loop provides the platform and related features with reasonable care. We do not promise that every listing is accurate, that every member will complete a transaction, or that every item is safe or suitable. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by another member's acts, an item supplied by another member, or arrangements made directly between members.

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

11. Changes and availability

We may improve, change, pause or withdraw features. If we make a material change to these terms, we will publish the updated terms and update the date above. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights already accrued.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory rights you have about where a dispute may be brought.

13. Optional listing boosts

A boost is a one-off promotional service sold by TheLoop Ltd. The total price and duration are shown before you pay through SumUp. It is separate from item purchases, which continue to use Stripe where card payment is selected. There is no automatic renewal.

After payment is confirmed, an active boosted listing is eligible for one of up to four Sponsored positions pinned to the top of the first marketplace results page. Sponsored positions are shown above the normal keyword, Buy/Free/Swap, category and age filters. Where a postcode or shared location is used, only boosted listings within that search radius are eligible and the closest take priority. Without a search location, newest boosted listings take priority; equal distances are also ordered newest first. Other boosted listings may still appear as ordinary filtered results. We do not guarantee a Sponsored position in every search or a particular number of views, enquiries or sales.

The boost expires after the purchased period. Only active listings appear in search. Marking your item unavailable or removing it does not pause the boost clock. A boost does not exempt a listing from moderation.

By requesting an immediate start at checkout, you ask us to begin the service during the cancellation period. You can cancel within 14 days of purchase through Help and support or by emailing wearelittleloop@gmail.com with your order reference. If delivery has begun at your request, a proportionate charge for the service already supplied may be deducted from your refund. Your statutory rights remain unaffected. If we cannot activate a paid boost, we will refund it.

Questions about these terms can be sent through Help and support.
